Frequently asked questions

Which sauna stove is better — mesh or steel casing?

It depends on how long you want to stay in the sauna. A steel-casing stove heats the sauna faster, but the sauna cools down quickly once you stop firing. A mesh-casing stove heats up more slowly but keeps the stove temperature longer.

How thick is the steel used for the stoves?

The thickness depends on how much heat each part gives off: the stove ceiling is 6 mm, the back wall 4 mm, the sides 3 mm and the outer casing 0.8 mm. The main material is hot-rolled steel. Stoves of other thicknesses are made on request.

What length of firewood suits the sauna stove?

For a stove fired from the steam room, logs of 35–40 cm are suitable. If the stove is fired from an adjacent room, we recommend logs of 55–60 cm.

How long does a stove last?

With correct use, a stove lasts 8–12 years (with the sauna used on average once a week). We have been making mesh-casing stoves since 2007 and they are still in service.

What is the boiler made of?

Standard water boilers are made of 3 mm black steel or 2 mm stainless steel. Boilers of thicker steel are made on request.

What is the boiler diameter?

The standard boiler diameter is 450 mm. At the customer’s request we make boilers with a smaller (445, 430, 420, 400, 380, 300, 280 mm) or larger diameter (455, 470, 500, 550, 600, 700, 900, 1200 mm).

How long does a boiler last?

A regular steel boiler lasts 6–8 years (boilers must be earthed). A stainless steel boiler is especially durable.
